After college I trained as a journalist - latterly working on news, features and the newsdesk on a daily paper. Following my newspaper career, I now contribute to a wide variety of consumer and trade publications including national newspapers, magazines and websites in the UK, USA and Australia.

 
I have an extensive knowledge of river cruising and river cruise lines and have sailed on all the major waterways in Europe and around the world, including the Mississippi, Upper and Lower Mekong, Ganges, Brahmaputra, Amazon and Russian waterways. My life on the ocean wave has included shipyard visits and christening ceremonies involving some of the world’s largest vessels, and I also have a particular interest in small ship expeditions.
 
These days I am best-known for cruise writing, but after my career in journalism and feature writing I can produce a variety of editorial features and content on different topics. My love of horses has also been part of my professional life, which you can read about here.

Other previous roles include editing Rapide magazine - circulated nationwide in BP service stations - and the ETC and Limited Edition lifestyle magazines in East Sussex. For many years I was involved in the English Wine Festival and produced brochure and promotional website content for English vineyards.
